Bashirbagh: The Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad, on Friday appealed to the Social Welfare Department to continue recognition to the Vidwan, Visharad, Bhushan courses in the Gurukul institutions. Representatives of the sabha Prof Suresh Puri, K Premkumar, S Gaibuvali, G Gandhi, M Gopal, AK Raju submitted a representation to department secretary Dr R S Praveen Kumar.

They informed the officials that the HRD Ministry had recognised the courses in 1970. The former AP government had issued GO 1415 according permanent recognition to the courses for appointment of Hindi teachers. The sabha representatives pointed out that the Telangana government had issued GO 25 on October 21 last after adding ‘supersession’ to scrap recognition without providing information, because of lack of awareness of Education Department officials that the courses were recognised in Andhra Pradesh.

They accused the officials of misleading the AP High Court and the State government. They wanted the official to render justice keeping the above points in view. Dr Kumar assured the delegation that he would try to do justice to the sabha.
