Kondapur: Negotiating west zone roads has become a nightmare for motorists and the residents. The route at Kondapur, Gachibowli stadium, Khajaguda, Narsingi is a bumpy ride on kaccha road. These pothole-ridden roads pose risk of accidents to the motorists. Though the residents have given several complaints to the officials no one has turned up look into the issue.
Besides posing risks, the damaged roads are causing heavy traffic jams in the areas. Residents from Gachibowli alleged that “We have become used to these roads and traffic, since the works of laying of new roads have begun some have turned to bumpy roads and no official is to check this issue. Surprisingly, the road at GHMC West Zone office is also bumpy. Several employees use the road to go to Hi-tech City or BHEL township side. There are numerous water logging points and large potholes have formed as a result of the recent rains.
Many residents took to twitter to complain about the pathetic situation of the road. The road work has been pending for months and during every rainy season, commuters have to endure the trauma of commuting on these bumpy roads. The officials said, “The issue will be rectified soon as the Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development reviewed the development works pertaining to engineering section and the issues on the roads so that commuters do not to face any inconvenience further.”
Shubha, an employee at Microsoft, said, “The Biodiversity Park junction which is connected to Gachibowli and Outer Ring Road to Hi-tech City and Madhapur, is often chock-a-block with traffic and on further driving to Gachibowli, the bumpy roads start again.” Because of these uneven damaged roads, the commuters are facing inconvenience especially in the night time when it is difficult to identify the potholes. Driving through this zone especially from Kondapur side is a nightmare. Most of the IT companies get delayed for their work, she adds.
