Kalam for convergence of technologies

Hyderabad: Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam stressed the need of convergence of technologies to achieve greater targets in the development of defence arsenal. Addressing the scientists on the occasion of silver jubilee celebrations of RCI (Research Centre Imarat), he said- “ What was useful yesterday will not be relevant today.

The goals are fast changing. Have a vision and move forward. We have already seen IT revolution. Now, nano technology has been making waves in key areas. Combine these with Bio- technology and club it with eco- technology. These four are the new age models. You have to make a synergy. The convergence of Info, Nano, Bio and Eco will yield results that you never dreamt of. So work towards that end.” Setting out goals for the Golden Jubilee celebrations, Kalam, who was the founder of RCI in 1988, called upon the Defence scientists to focus on interface and collaboration between different disciplines.
