Telangana Liberation Day : TJAC Chairman Kodandaram on Tuesday recalled the sacrifices made by martyrs in achieving independence to Telangana from Nizam rule by merging with Indian Union on September 17, 1948. Kodandaram was addressing students and Telangana protagonists at a meeting jointly organised by Telangana Vidyalaya (AV College) JAC and Telangana Aided Colleges Staff Association to commemorate ‘Telangana Liberation Day’ at Domalguda.
Hyderabad: TJAC Chairman Kodandaram on Tuesday recalled the sacrifices made by martyrs in achieving independence to Telangana from Nizam rule by merging with Indian Union on September 17, 1948. Kodandaram was addressing students and Telangana protagonists at a meeting jointly organised by Telangana Vidyalaya (AV College) JAC and Telangana Aided Colleges Staff Association to commemorate ‘Telangana Liberation Day’ at Domalguda. Kodandaram pointed out that Telangana people have attempted to turn the pages of history only after Telangana agitation gained momentum subsequently pouring life to Hyderabad and Telangana districts. He urged people to extend support to ‘Sakala Janula Bheri’ that is scheduled to organise on September 29.
Slamming Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy for instigating fears among Seemandhra people, Kodandaram questioned the Chief Minister as to how he was drawing salary without the government functioning in the State. Speaking on the occasion Siricilla MLA, K Taraka Rama Rao said those who are born or residing in Hyderabad cannot claim they are native. Unless those residing in the city understand feelings of Telangana people, nobody has right to call themselves as Hyderabadi. He urged media channels to abstain from portraying what is happening in Seemandhra region.
Meanwhile, speaking on Congress stand on Telangana and procrastinated decision taken by CWC in announcing separate state, MP Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar explained how painstaking it is for Congress to decide on Telangana and the consequences arise, aftermath. Leaders among those present on the occasion were Peddapalli MP G Vivek, TRS Leader Konda Visweswara Reddy, TNGO President Srinivas Goud, TACSA President V Rajamahender Reddy and TNGO President Devi Prasad.
