The hitherto municipal Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Thursday assumed charge as the Special Officer of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Speaking to media persons later, the Special Officer assured that he would perform up to the expectations of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and would strive hard to fulfill his vision of making Hyderabad a world class city.

Having served as the GHMC Commissioner for the past few months, Somesh Kumar said he had gained a lot of experience and he would utilise the same for the development of GHMC areas. He said a lot of improvement was needed in certain areas and new systems need to be adopted to provide better service to the citizens. Importance would be given for immediate redressal of grievances, especially those referred by the public representatives, he said.
Special Commissioners, Additional Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners, Engineer-in-Chief, Chief Engineer and all the Deputy Commissioners and senior officials and staff of the GHMC welcomed Somesh Kumar, duly presenting a bouquet to him.
