The sixth edition of Banyan Tree Events’ annual festival, The Splendour of Masters, will be held in the city on January 30. The festival will feature celebrated musicians to enthrall the audiences. Celebrated maestro Pt. Shivkumar Sharma and his son Rahul Sharma, who haven’t performed together in a decade, will take the stage. They will be accompanied by ghatam vidwan Vikku Vinayakram and renowned tabla maestros Pt. Anindo Chatterjee and Mukundraj Deo.

Mahesh Babu, managing director, Banyan Tree Events, said, “We have been successful in bringing maestros of Indian classical music together for six years now and it would be mesmerising to watch them perform on stage. The growing appreciation each year gives us more enthusiasm to do what we have been doing for the past 20 years.”

Pt. Shivkumar Sharma said, “Years ago I had played jugalbandi with Rahul in Santoor Viraasat organised by Banyan Tree. Today Rahul has created his own identity as a Santoor player. Now as Splendour of Masters is happening, it will be a great experience for me and I hope for the listeners as well.” Before being held at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad, the annual festival will be hosted at Bengaluru on January 23. It will then conclude at Mumbai on February 7.
