The University of Hyderabad (UoH) was graded as India's best Central varsity last month and had received the Visitor’s Award from the President of India. Adding another feather to its cap, the institute has bagged the second spot among central universities in the country in a survey carried out by Careers360, a publication of the Outlook Group. The results have been published in the magazine’s March 2015 issue. Previously, the university was ranked fourth in the same survey.
The UoH was ranked number one in the learning (accreditation, student-faculty ratio and PhDs) criteria. Overall the university has been ranked as outstanding with a percentile in the range of 90 to 94. It has been selected for the tag of ‘Universities of Excellence (UoE)’ for overall performance by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The only other university to get the tag is Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
More than 777 universities and institutions were researched for the publication record from Web of Science, patents (both granted and approved), NAAC rating score and student-faculty ratio. The University was rated based on academic output, citation impact, intellectual property, research productivity and learning.
