Japan wins global trust in producing food items and heavy machines

Japanese food maker Ajinomoto, which offers 'umami' seasoning in 130 countries and regions worldwide, entered the Cambodian market in 2002. Soon after entering the market, umami seasoning called 'Aji-no-moto' and another seasoning product 'RosDee' were imported to Cambodia from Thailand.

In order to convey 'deliciousness' to customers in Cambodia, the product is sold in a unique package designed for the local market with labeling done in Khmer. The taste of the product is adjusted to Cambodian cuisine.

Factory Manager at Ajinomoto's Cambodian division, Uthai Meesaeng, said that winning customer's trust and offering value beyond expectation is their main aim while making the product.

"We have imported seasonings from Thailand since 2002. Fortunately, we started in-house production of "RosDee" from January. We are striving to manufacture safety and reliability products which meet Cambodian in order to realize "Eat Well, Live Well." Then, we would like to create consumer's trust and added value beyond people's expectation and contribute to better life of people in Cambodia," Meesaeng said.

Similarly, Japanese companies have set a standard by maintaining the high quality in the manufacturing of heavily machinery.

Japanese heavy industry manufacturers, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries boasts of a wide range of engines from 0.7 to 15,400 kilowatts.

In their Sagamihara plant, the production of diesel engine and gas engine for the distributed power sources is booming. The distributed power supply system attracts the attention for the purpose of power generation in the isolated place such as islands and mountainous areas.

Those engines manufactured at the Sagamihara Plant, are shipped to all over the world as cogeneration system, and supply stable power in each regions.

In Sagamihara factory, there is a facility for remotely monitoring the engines that are already delivered to the customers.

Manager in Plant Engineering Section of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited, Junichi Kaga, said that adopting new development engines has enabled his company to carry out demonstration test to customers.

"By adopting new development engines to be installed at the power station in our manufacturing plant, it makes us possible to carry out demonstration test to customers...Natural gas is easily available in this region. We are thinking to expand our business on gas engines as well," Kaga said.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries manufactures engines in the ASEAN region including Singapore, Vietnam, Philippines and Indonesia.There is a manufacturing and sales company of diesel engines even in India.
