Four people were taken to hospitals and one with a minor injury was treated at the Waldorf, one of Manhattan’s grand old hotels, the report said. Bill Aubry, chief of Manhattan detectives, said one person was hit by gunfire and three others were struck by debris such as glass, marble and tile.
Police tape was strewn across the access area to the hotel’s east terrace, which had been closed to hotel guests as the reception occurred there.
