int2Karimnagar: Police arrested a three-member inter-district gang of thieves and recovered gold ornaments and vehicles from them on Tuesday.

DSP Chakravarthy presented the arrested persons at a press conference here. The arrested persons are Kasarapu Srikanth (22) and Suddala Anil (20), both belonging to Kothapalli village of Karimnagar mandal, and Kemasarapu Siva (20) of Ganeshnagar at Siddipet in Medak district. The three-member gang involved in several thefts in Karimnagar, Warangal, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Mahbubnagar districts for the past many days.

Gold ornaments of 180 grams, 1,280 grams silver ornaments, four two-wheelers, four auto-rickshaws, one Maruti car, three LCD TVs and one laptop were recovered from them. The cost of the recovered articles would be around Rs 12 lakhs. Altogether, 22 theft cases were registered against the three persons, said Mr Chakravarthy.

As the number of thefts in the town increased in recent days, police intensified their searches and were able to nab the culprits on Tuesday, the DSP said. The DSP congratulated One Town CI Vijay Kumar for his active role in nabbing the culprits. The arrested persons were sent to remand.
