Karimnagar: Chairman of 20-Point Programme N Tulasi Reddy held a meeting with officials at Collectorate here on Thursday to review implementation of the programme in the district. Speaking to the newsmen, he stated that Karimnagar district was at 20th spot in the implementation of 20-point programme in 2010-11 and reached top spot in 2011-12 with the efforts of the District Collector and other officials. "The district is close to achieving the targets set for the year 2012-13 and would get first place in the State if the officials continued their good work. As many as 9,322 houses were constructed under Indira Avas Yojana scheme against the target of 10,586 houses across the district. A total of 42,695 people belonging to SC communities have been benefited under various welfare schemes so far. Drinking water facilities were provided to 3,701 habitations. Around 4,500 youth were provided jobs under Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu scheme,'' Mr. Tulasi Reddy explained. District Collector Smitha Sabharval, Project Director of DRDA J Shankaraiah and others were present on the occasion.
