According to police, a major theft occurred at the house of Amin Mohamed Manjiyani at Hymadpura in Karimnagar in November, 2012. Amin Mohamed Manjiyani, his wife and daughter-in-law went to offer prayers to a mosque on the day. When they returned, they found that their house was looted. Rs 15 lakhs and gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakhs were missing from the house.
However, the locks of the door were not broken. They made a complaint with the police and the latter intensified their investigation. The culprits were trying to sell some of the ornaments near Tower Circle in the town and were nabbed by the police after a gap of nearly five months. The accused persons � Dedani Meenaji and her husband Barkat Ali � came to Karimnagar from Gujarath 11 years ago in search of employment. Meenaji used to cook at houses for functions. Barkat Ali is a push cart vendor. Some months ago, both of them went to the house of Amin Mohamed Manjiyani to cook for a function.
Without the knowledge of the house owners, the two were able to steal the keys of the house and almirah and prepared duplicate keys. They waited for an opportunity and indulged in the theft in November, 2012.A Police arrested the two persons and recovered the stolen money and also the ornaments.
SP Ravinder rewarded the One Town CI Surender and constables for arresting the culprits.A The SP asked the people to be careful while appointing cooks, housemaids and other employees at their houses. The house owners should have knowledge about the background of the persons they employ, he said
