MP Ponnam Prabhakar flayed the Congress Party leaders from Seemandhra region for making provocative speeches on the State bifurcation issue despite AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh's appeal for restraint.
Addressing the newsmen here on Thursday, the MP said that Seemandhra leaders were trying to mislead the Congress Party leadership by claiming that bifurcation of the State would lead to violence.
People in the Telangana region were fighting for achieving statehood status through peaceful means and threats of violence would not deter them, he added. He exuded confidence that a positive decision would come out on Telangana issue before 2014 General Elections.
