Mahbubnagar: The Jadcherla police on Tuesday arrested six of the seven accused in a twin murder case that occurred a fortnight ago near Nagasala village, on the outskirts of Jadcherla town in Mahbubnagar district.

According to police, a couple, Dommara Venkataiah and Dommara Indiramma, was hacked to death near Nagasala village a fortnight ago by unidentified assailants. The Jadcherla police took the case as a challenge and started investigation. It made the headway in the case and arrested the accused persons at a hotel in Jadcherla.

“We have successfully cracked the twin murder case that took place on Spetember 12 near Nagasala. We have arrested six accused persons while the seventh culprit is still at large. Very soon, we will trace him out and arrest,” said Vijaya Bhaskar, Deputy Superintend of Police, Mahbubnagar.

Initially, the police had no clue in the case. But after detailed investigation, it was revealed that the twin murder was the product of a grudge between two rival business groups in Badepally village. The groups were said to be involved in pig rearing business.

Venkataiah and his wife, Indiramma, who are from Timmajipeta, had recently started the pig rearing business in Badepally village. Learning about this, Yerakali Vishwanatham and Meenigala Balaswamy who were also in the same business threatened the couple not to commence their business in Badepally.

However, they did not relent to the threats and continued their business. Angered with this, Vishwanatham along with Balaswamy hatched a plan to eliminate the couple.

According to the plan, they hired five assassins from Kurnool district and managed to kill the couple near Nagasala village when the couple was going from Badepally to Timmajipeta.

“Based on our preliminary investigation, we had found that in all seven people were involved in the murder conspiracy. We have traced their whereabouts and arrested the six of the seven accused,” said Circle Inspector Gangadhar.
