Khammam: Leaders of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) II Town held a massive road blockade programme here at the bypass road of Raparthinagar demanding that the government put up traffic signals at Raparthinagar Centre apart from installing street lights in the main road of NSP Camp here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the II Town secretary of the CPM Y Vikram alleged that due to heavy rush at Raparthinagar Centre and lack of traffic signals, many accidents were taking place at the centre. There was an urgent need of setting up traffic signals at the Raparthinagar Centre to prevent further accidents in future, he observed. “Many ladies’ hostels are there in and around the NSP Camp.

Due to lack of street lights in the main road of NSP camp, several anti-social activities are taking place in that area,” he said.

Even after appealing several times, the officials were behaving negligently in installing street lights in the main road of NSP Camp, he alleged. He said the party would intensify agitation if the officials did not act positively and teach the government a fitting lesson.

The CPM II Town leaders Narra Ramesh, B Venkat Kumar, K Guru Murthy, T Ramu, B Upendar, Hussain, Bhadram, J Venkanna Babu, B Sudharshan, Vasu Reddy, Veera Babu and Sagar were present along with others.
