Mahabubnagar: With the State government allocating Rs 5 crore for the renovation of the biggest lake Nalla Cheru in Kavaremmmapeta village under Jadcherla mandal, C Laxma Reddy, Minister for Medical Health and Family welfare, laid the foundation stone on Wednesday for converting the lake into a mini Tank Bund.

“After a long wait, we have finally got adequate funds of Rs. 5 crores from the government for the renovation of Nalla Cheru into a mini Tank Bund. We will see that the renovation works on the lake are taken up at the earliest. We will ensure its development in all respects in a time-bound manner,” promised the Minister, while laying the foundation stone.

Later the Minister also took part in the inauguration programme of the newly constructed Praja Parishad meeting hall in Jadcherla and distributed Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana cheques to 73 eligible beneficiaries who have got married recently. While speaking on the occasion the Minister said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is a visionary and has designed each and every scheme for the welfare of people and development with a long and short term perspective.

Never before had any government came forward to rescue the poor families to help them get financial support aid for the marriage of their daughters. “The TRS government had done remarkable developments in State in just less than three years. He said the Congress government could not do so in 50 years of its rule.

Telangana State will become a green belt and the farmers, who were rendered helpless during the previous government, will become prosperous and there will be no migration hereafter. The Chief Minister has launched mega irrigation projects like PRRLI, which will become the lifeline of Mahbubnagar and will irrigate more than eight lakh acres in the days to come,” said the Minister.
