TVKSJAC demands regularisation of contract workers

Khammam: District leader of Telangana Vidyuth Karmika Snaghala Joint Action Committee (TVKSJAC) M Prasad demanded that the government regularise contract employees working in Electricity Department for many years.
The representatives of the TVKS-JAC, with flowers in their ears, protested against the government for not regularising the contract workers and submitted the memorandum to the Divisional Engineer of Khammam rural here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Prasad alleged that instead of regularising the contract workers on court orders, the department described the contract employees as mere electricians and thus evaded confirmation of their services.
He demanded that equal pay for equal work rule should be implemented for the bill collectors, meter reading workers, line men and store workers.Representatives of TVKSJAC K Nageshwar Rao, B Upendar, Harish, L V Krishna Rao, Madhu, Raheem, bill collectors Srinu, Shekar, Radha, computer operators Rama Devi and Ravi were present.
