Reservoir oustees stage protest

Marrigudem (Nalgonda): Oustees of Charlagudem reservoir underMarriguda mandal in the district demanded that the works be stopped till they get compensation for their lands. Farmers, who lost their lands for the reservoir, staged a sit-in protest at the reservoir site.

They criticized the government for not paying full compensation for their lands. They threatened to obstruct the works if the government failed to pay compensation in full. The police, who arrived on the spot, persuaded the farmers to withdraw the
agitation.
