Kothagudem: The government was committed to develop agriculture in the State and providing several benefits for the farmers, like round-the-clock power supply, rythu bandhu and others, stated MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao.

He participated in a workshop - Kisan Kalyan Karyashala - organised by Agricultural depament with the farmers here on Wednesday. He said that the TRS government is the only government in the entire country to provide more facilities to farmers and urged the farmers to utilise all the welfare schemes provided to them. Informing that the government was allotting more funds for the development of check dams and water tanks in the district, he explained the details of funds released by the government so far.

The government had released Rs 20 crores for construction of Nagaram and Suraram Lift Irrigation projects, Rs 25 crores for Singa Bhupalem tank. Once the check dams in Palvoncha mandal is completed, several acres of land will come under cultivation.

As many as 20 lakh acres could be cultivated after Murdedu and Kinnerasani check dams were completed in the district. Dantela Boru Tank will be developed under Mission Kakatiya scheme with Rs 5 crores.The officials have given several suggestions to farmers during the workshop. They clarified the doubts of the farmers.
