Khammam: Horticulture Minister Ramreddy Venkat Reddy urged people living in rural areas to grow plants in their surroundings to improve greenery. The Minister launched Neem and Eucalyptus plantation drive at Paleru village in Kusumanchi mandal in the district on Tuesday. Addressing the villagers, he said that environmental imbalances were leading to global warming, drought conditions and other problems. Protection of forests and growing trees would bring down environmental problems and improve rainfall, he added. He directed the forest officials to provide saplings to every household and to take measures to protect trees in the villages. Divisional Forest Officer Sathish Kumar, MPDO Tirupataiah, Tehsildar B Veeraiah and others were present.
