sscVijayawada: The SSC examinations commenced in the district on Friday amidst tight security. As many as 60,853 students are appearing for the examination in the district at 287 examination centres. Out of them, 50,131 students are from the regular schools, while 7,722 are appearing as private candidates. The district administration has made elaborate security arrangements with 3,800 invigilators and 14 flying squads monitoring the examination. The officials have divided the district into 25 routes to distribute question papers. The police have imposed prohibitory orders at all the examination centres preventing gathering of people in groups. The district administration has asked the APSRTC to provide special buses to all the examination centres for the convenience of the students. Meanwhile, the District Collector, Dr M Buddha Prakash Jyothi, inspected examination centres at Bishop Hazaraiah Girls High School, Zilla Parishad High School at Gollapudi and other areas. The District Education Officer, T Devananda Reddy, Deputy Education Officer, MV Krishna Reddy, examination chief supervisors G Swarna Kumari and Abdul Azeed and others were present. The Vijayawada Sub-Collector, D Harichandana, also visited some of the examination centres in the city and monitored the public examination.
