chessVijayawada: Chess has long been regarded as a game that can have beneficial effect on the mind to understand and grasp the things faster, especially when it is played from a young age. With a view to encourage talented youth in chess, the local Mustabada Sports and Educational Academy (MSEA) has organised simultaneous display by Grand Master Praveen Thipsay, as a part of the coaching camp at Hotel D V Manor. As many as 30 students have been taught special techniques in this camp. Grand Master Praveen, on the occasion, said that he was happy to be a coach for this camp. He recalled that 15 students from the city got medals after his coaching camp in 2003. He wished more than 10 students would win medals after this camp. He requested the parents of the students to encourage them and give some time for playing chess along with studies. Chief coach of MSEA V R Bobba , Managing Director of Hotel DV Manor D Nagendra Prasad, District Chess Association secretary Srihari were also present.
