Vijayawada: Harshavardan Reddy a CA student of Superwizz here on Friday night committed suicide by jumping from the college building . Harsha Vardhan was severely reprimanded by the coordinator after he had availed himself of one more day after attending a marriage function. Feeling humiliated, Harshavardhan committed suicide, it has been alleged. The students of the Superwizz college, activists of various students associations, leaders of various political parties staged demonstration before the college. They held the management responsible for the death of the student and demanded justice to the bereaved family. But management is not serious on this issue. They are not even ready to respond on this issue. City police had booked a case and investigating on the issue. The classmates of the deceased alleged that Harshavardhan was humiliated in front of all the students and he told his friends that he was committing suicide. They alleged that nobody was informed even two hours after the incident. They also alleged that in the complaint with the police it was mentioned that Harshavardhan died playing cricket. Student Organizations and Welfare Organizations are very serious about the issue.SFI leader Praveen speaking on the occasion said that the corporate institutions are harassing students in their thirst for ranks. This is not the very first incident in the city. Earlier several students had lost their lives in the struggle for education. Parents and Educational Institutions must change their attitude and allow the students to think on their own. All India Youth Federation President Navanitham Sambasiva Rao demanded the police to take stringent action against the institution. He said that the institution had a very bad track record of harassing students and their parents. He demanded that the government should come forward and make serious enactments to prevent such incidents in future.
