People rallying behind YSRCP, claim leaders

Vijayawada:The YSR Congress here on Tuesday held its second formation day. A The party leaders speaking on the occasion claimed that the party had reached the poorest of the poor in the last two years despite the repression unleashed by the ruling Congress and the conspiracies by the Opposition Telugu Desam Party. The party Krishna district coordinator, TR Ashok Kumar, said that the people across the State were rallying behind the YSR Congress Party as the ruling Congress had given up the welfare programmes introduced by late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. He said that people were looking to the YSR Congress Party as the right choice to make their dreams come true. He said that pensions for aged, disabled and widows, fee reimbursement and Rajiv Arogya Sri have helped the poor during late Dr Rajasekhar Reddy's tenure. However, with the present Congress government withdrawing them slowly in a phased manner, he said that people were now looking to the YSR Congress Party to revive the schemes after coming to power. He asked the rank and file of the party to work hard and keep the people intact with the party.The party leaders D Anji Reddy, Laka Vengalrao Yadav, D Rathna Sekhar, Thumma Srinivas and others were present.A At Mogalrajapuram, the party spokesperson and former mayor, Tadi Sakunthala, organsied the party formation day. Speaking on the occasion, Sakunthala criticised the Opposition Telugu Desam Party for its dilly-dallying attitude on tabling the no confidence motion against the government. A She alleged that the TD was not performing its Opposition role though the ruling party was functioning against the welfare of the people. She said that the TD was worried about the growing popularity of the YSR Congress Party, which is why the party had tied up with the ruling Congress party. She alleged that the TD was helping the Congress and its government only to keep the YSR Congress Party away from power.
