celabrateVijayawada: The event turned colourful with the speakers sharing their experiences on the 100 years of Indian film industry here on Sunday.The Andhra Film Chamber of Commerce (AFCC) had orgnaised a colourful event at Thummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram here where the veterans of the film industry were present. Addressing the gathering, AFCC president Thammareddy Bharadwaja said that the Telugu film industry contributed more to the Indian movie in the past 100 years. He said that most foreigners were unaware of the contribution of Telugu industry to the growth of Indian film industry. He termed the Telugu industry as the heart of the Indian silver screen. He said that many actors, producers, directors and artistes from Telugu industry have contributed their might for the Indian film industry through the Bollywood. He further said that producers like Dr D Ramanaidu have produced greatest films in several Indian languages. The first theater in the State was constructed in Vijayawada and Krishna district had produced several eminent artists, technicians and producers to the movie world. A book called Telugu Cinema Diary was released by Movie Moghul D Ramanaidu while another Indian Cinema Book was released by the yesteryear actress Vanisree. The film personalities, V B Rajendra Prasad, Ashok Kumar, late actress Savithri's daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari and others participated in the celebration.
