Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy rides on Bhrungi Vahanam

Srisailam (Kurnool): On the fourth day of the ongoing annual Shivaratri Brahmotsavams at Srisailam the processional deity of Lord Mallikarjuna and his consort Bhramarambika were taken on a 'Bhrungi Vahanam' in a grand procession on Wednesday evening. Thousands of devotees witnessed the colourful procession that lasted for over two hours. The day also witnessed special rituals conducted by the Vedic priests inside the hill temple. Chanting of 'Om Namasshivaya' rented the air. Priests placed the bejeweled idols on the carrier at Dakshina Dwaram after performing special pujas. After taking out the idols along the temple streets, priests conducted them to Rathashala. Later, Gramotsavam was performed. Thousands of devotees paid their obeisance to the deities.
