Kurnool : Rajya Sabha member and senior leader of Communist Party of India (Marxist) Sitaram Yechury said here on Sunday that efforts were being made for forming a non-Congress and non-BJP government at the Centre. A Addressing media, the CPM leader said that people were opting for an effective alternative as both the Congress and BJP were following the same policies.
He said that it was not proper to stall the Parliament proceedings in protest against the corruption and it was not proper to demand the resignation of the prime minister. "However, we have the right to point out the corruption and scams in the country," he added.
Referring to the comments made by the CPI leader, A B Bardhan, he said that his comments were irrelevant. "Each party has its own agenda and every party works as per its policies," he pointed out.A Keeping in view the conditions in the country, it is high time there was leftist unity, he opined.
Admitting that there was border dispute between India and China, he said that both the countries should strive to resolve the issue and bilateral relations needed to be improved.A State committee member Gafoor, district secretary Shadrak, Pulla Reddy and others were present in the press meet.
