Kurnool: Union Minister of State for Railways Kotla Jayasurya Prakash Reddy said here on Sunday that he would strive to upgrade the Kurnool Government General Hospital into a full-fledged super specialty hospital.A Inaugurating the lift at the Government general hospital, the union minister said that the hospital has no lift facility so far which would be useful for the patients.
Expressing concern over the dilapidated buildings of the hospital, the union minister said that he would take up the issue with the chief minister to sanction new buildings for the hospital. He said that the general hospital was so popular that patients from neighbouring districts and States also come here for treatment. A He said that he understood that there is severe shortage of doctors and other staff in the hospital and action would be taken soon to fill the vacancies.
District Collector C Sudarsan Reddy , DCC president Ramaiah, hospital superintendent Dr Uma Maheswara Rao, medical college principal Dr Ramprasad, former mayor Raghuram Reddy, former ZP chairman Akepogu Venkata Swamy, DM&HO Dr Narasimhulu, several doctors and medical officers were present.
