Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday constituted an Empowered Committee for Mobilisation of OBCs to study the failure of TRS Government in implementing welfare schemes for Backward Classes.
Hyderabad : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Wednesday constituted an Empowered Committee for Mobilisation of OBCs to study the failure of TRS Government in implementing welfare schemes for Backward Classes.
The 25-member committee will be headed by T. Nagaiah as its chairman while B. Mahesh Kumar Goud will be its convener. The other members of the committee are Ponnam Prabhakar, Madhu Yashki Goud, M. Anjan Kumar Yadav, Akula Lalitha, Nerella Sharada, M. Anil Kumar Yadav, B. Bhikshamaiah Goud, E. Anil Kumar, Palle Laxman Rao Goud, C.J. Srinivas Rao, Kyama Mallesha, Dr. Sravan Dasoju, Dr. P. Vinay Kumar, T. Niranjan, Premlal, Adam Santhosh Kumar, G. Sujatha, Kathi Venkata Swamy, Rajaram Yadav, Bandi Narsa Goud, Allam Bhaskar, Nagesh Mudiraj and Indira Shobhan.
The Committee has been asked to critically evaluate the schemes and programs initiated by TRS Govt for OBCs and expose TRS Govt's approach to use OBCs as vote bank rather than making significant improvement in their lives. It will take up massive campaign highlighting the failed promises of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for OBCs. It has asked to expose KCR for failure to enhance OBC quota in proportion to their population. The Committee will take up tours to the districts and organise OBC Sammelans to highlight the failures of TRS Government and explain Congress party's vision for OBCs. It will also identify potential leaders among OBCs and develop an effective communication strategy.
The tenure of the committee will be from 1st February to 30th April. The committee will tour the state extensively and critically examine all the government schemes for OBCs at the field level. It will submit fortnightly reports and final report in the first week of May 2018 to the PCC President. The first meeting of the above committee will be held on 6th February in Gandhi Bhavan which will be attended by AICC Incharge Secretary Dr. R.C. Khuntia.
