Rs 15 Crore released for Bonalu Festival

Hyderabad: State government on Tuesday gave administrative sanctions releasing Rs 15 Crore for the ensuing Bonalu festival in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation for the financial year 2018.
The Endowments department on Tuesday issued GO RT 280 giving administrative sanctions for Rs 15 crore as additional funds in relaxation of treasury control and quarterly regulation orders by way of obtaining supplementary grants during financial year 2018-19 towards meeting the expenditure of celebrations of Bonalu Festival 2018.
The District Collector, Hyderabad is authorised to draw the funds and disburse the same to the eligible temples/agencies/departments and furnish utilisation certificates to the Endowment Department. The Bonalu festivities in the city would start from July 15. Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Jatara is on July 29 followed by Rangam on July 30. The Old City Bonalu Jatara will be celebrated on August 5 and Rangam on August 6.
