Details are now coming out about the tragic death of Gottimukkala-based software techie Gogineni Nagarjuna. Nagarjuna fell into a fast flowing and highly dangerous Elk river waterfall in North Carolina, got tangled in the debris and drowned.

Sources now reveal that he tried to jump off the rocks for swimming and got entangled in the water creepers and other debis and could not swim. Due to the high velocity of the water flow, he could not extricate himself from the debris and was swept away. Nagarjuna went for a picnic outing to the waterfall, which is a popular destination of holiday revelers.

According to Avery Journal, which quoted assistant fire marshall Paul Buchanan, it took two hours to extricate the body. He said the waterfall is dangerous and has witnessed several casualties, the recent one being that of Thomas Mc Cadley on May 20.

Nagarjuna is son of senior TDP leader in Krishna district Gogineni Venkat Rao. A pall of gloom descended on the village following the untimely death of the young and promising techie.
