Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) will be constructing its first skywalk in Mythrivanam, Ameerpet easing the pedestrians’ woes.

While the Ameerpet Interchange Station is serving as a foot over bridge, the skywalk will help pedestrians move across the roads and cross the ever-busy junction without any inconvenience.

To be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore, the 250-metre-long ‘T’ shape designed skywalk will be coming up from the concourse level of the station and gets extended towards Mythrivanam bus stop. According to HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy, one arm of the facility is designed to land at the open place just after Mythrivanam complex and the other will land close to outlets on the other side of the road.

The pedestrian traffic is likely to increase considerably post the commencement of the Metro operations on the Ameerpet-Hitec City route.

The construction of the skywalk is expected to be completed within six months. A skywalk has already been constructed at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station and a similar facility is being constructed at Paradise station which is nearing completion.

Also, facilities are coming up at Secunderabad, Malakpet, Punjagutta, Hitec City and other locations.
