Drunken driving and usage of drugs on New Year eve will land the public in jail after getting caught by the police. The police have imposed restrictions on the public by conducting drunken driving checks throughout the city from 11 pm to 5 am.

On the other hand, the police also restricted the hotels, pubs, resorts to finish up the New Year celebrations by 1 pm apart from directing them to make special arrangements for women who attend the celebration. The police also issued orders to install CCTVs at the New Year events. Bursting of crackers is also restricted in the city.
