The Hyderabad women police will be soon seen patrolling on bikes in the city. The initiative 'Women on Wheels' is aimed to put women police at par with men colleagues to avert crimes on women, said Additional Commissioner Shika Goel.
The police department is planning to deploy 20 teams of women constables in 17 divisions across the city. Goel also said that these officers will also attend the calls on 100 to stand by women. She also appealed to women to dial 100 in case of experiencing eve-teasing and other crimes on them.
For the initiative, around 47 women constables will be given special training on patrolling, improving driving skills, blue coat system and more.
