62 cows rescued from transport truck en route to slaughterhouse by cops

HYDERABAD: MLA Raja Singh from Bharatiya Janata Party and his aides on Monday had handed over 62 cows to Shamirpet police and demanded a strict against against slaughtering of cows.
The BJP workers noticed the truck sealed from all the sides and noticed tree branches on top of the truck and they stooped it doubting it to be a illegal transportation of cows to slaughtering and called MLA Raja Sigh and informed. When they stopped the vehicle and checked inside there were cows, calves and few bulls tied up with ropes and stacked mercilessly one over the other inside the vehicle. A total of 62 animals were rescued on Monday and were sent to a nearby Gaushalas.
Police had registered a case against the driver and arrested him. A case has been booked under section five and six of AP Prohibition of Cow Slaughter and Animal Preservation Act 1977, said B Naveen Reddy, Circle Inspector of Shamirpet Police Station.
