It appears many leaders in the district are struck by 'son' stroke. Leaders of almost all parties have been leaving no stone unturned to bring in their wards in the political arena in the forthcoming Assembly and Parliament elections. In essence, they are trying to continue their legacy in their respective constituencies.

Member of Parliament from Nagar Kurnool Manda Jagannadham who recently bid goodbye to the Congress party wants his son Manda Srinath to contest from Alampur assembly constituency as TRS candidate. Srinadh has already been in touch with the leaders of the constituency and even holding parleys. He is also preparing strategies to visit the villages in the constituency.

Nagar Kurnool MLA Nagam Janardhana Reddy who joined the BJP recently wants to contest from the Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency and wishes to bring in his son Dinakar Reddy to contest from Nagar Kurnool assembly constituency. Dinakar Reddy, who has been helping his father during the recent elections, is not new to the people of the constituency.

Former MP Devarakonda Vithal Rao wants his son Sridhar to contest from Kodangal Assembly constituency, it is reported. He has been busy striving to push forward his son into the arena in the backdrop the sitting Kodangal MLA Gurunadh Reddy would not be re-nominated to the Constituency. Several Congress leaders are aware of this development, it is learnt. Former minister DK Samara Simha Reddy wants his son Raghu Reddy to step in his shoes in politics.

It is reported that Samara Simha Reddy recently met the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu seeking the party ticket for his son to contest from Gadwal assembly constituency. It is likely that Raghu Reddy might be the TDP candidate from Gadwal in the 2014 assembly elections. It is also reported that Samara Simha Reddy held parleys with the leaders in the Gadwal constituency to discuss the future political prospects of his son.

TDP MLA Kottakota Dayakar Reddy is expecting his son Siddhartha Reddy to join politics. During the walkathon by Chandrababu Naidu, Siddhartha Reddy brought in a number of youth to walk along with the TDP chief and even share a word with the prince, Nara Lokesh. It is rumoured that his mother Sita Dayakar Reddy might not contest from Devarakadra constituency and most likely Siddhartha Reddy might step in his mother's shoes. It is also said that Siddhartha Reddy might contest from Narayanapet, should his father Dayakar Reddy contest from Devarakadra.

Congress MLA R Gurunath Reddy wants his son Jagadiswar Reddy to contest from Kodangal assembly constituency on the YSR Congress party ticket. He has already been entrusted with the responsibility of looking after the affairs of Kodangal segment. Former minister Podapati Chandrasekhar is contemplating to bring in his daughter Gayatri into politics. He is also thinking of bringing his son to contest the election as TRS candidate from Narayanapet or Mahbubnagar constituencies. One has to wait and watch what would be in store for these sons of illustrious fathers.
