What could be described as another setback to the Telugu Desam party, its Nagar Kurnool in-charge Marri Janardhana Reddy announced his resignation to the party primary membership on Thursday. Talking to newsmen he said that he had faxed his resignation to the party president Chandrababu Naidu as the TDP was not committed to the formation of Telangana.
Marri announced that following an invitation from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, he would be joining the TRS on June 2 in the presence of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao. He said that he had waited till Mahanadu anticipating that the TDP would announce its clear stand on Telangana but was disappointed. TRS leaders Jitendar Reddy, Lakshma Reddy, Ibrahim and district TRS president Vithal Rao Arya invited Marri Janardhana Reddy to join theparty at Mahbubnagar.
After talking to the party president, KCR, he has decided to join the TRS, he said. TRS leaders hailing the decision taken by Marri said that the Telangana leaders of others parties should also strive to achieve the State by strengthening the TRS.
