LeT Plans to Strike Before Barack Obama Visit. India has been warned by foreign intelligence agencies that the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba may be planning an attack in the country before next month\'s visit by US President Barack Obama.

New Delhi: India has been warned by foreign intelligence agencies that the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba may be planning an attack in the country before next month's visit by US President Barack Obama. Sources in Indian intelligence agencies said that they are paying special attention to five terror suspects who escaped from a prison in Madhya Pradesh in October last year and have still not been found.

The Lashkar, which is based in Pakistan, is responsible for the 26/11 siege of Mumbai in which 166 people were killed in 2008. Intelligence sources said that recent phone intercepts reveal Lashkar handlers talking to the escaped terror suspects about being tasked to an attack. President Obama has been invited as the Chief Guest for next month's Republic Day celebrations. Obama, who visited India in 2010, will be the first US president to visit India twice while in office.

The Home Ministry is also reviewing alerts about a possible "lone wolf" attack by one or more of the jailbirds, who were accused of being members of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India or SIMI.

‘Tehrik-e-Taliban Pak hostile towards India’

Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, which was responsible for the killing of 148 people, mostly children in a school in Peshawar, is considered to be hostile to Indian interests and has been maintaining links with al-Qaeda in the Indian sub-continent, Rajya Sabha was informed.

Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary said Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan - Jamaatul Ahrar (TTP-JA) had claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on the Pakistani side of the Wagah Border on November 2, 2014.

Hafiz Saeed threatens attacks against India

New Delhi: On national television in Pakistan, Hafiz Saeed, one of the world's most-wanted men, blamed India for the massacre of children at a Pakistan school and vowed revenge. Saeed's threats come as India has pledged its support to its neighbour as it grapples with its worst-ever terror attack.

Saeed, who has a $10 million US bounty on his head since 2012, appears openly at rallies in Pakistan, and frequently denounces India as a terrorist state. Earlier this month, special trains were organised to ferry his supporters from Islamabad to Lahore, a clear signal of his clout within the establishment.
