Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has declared that she has total assets worth Rs 117.13 crore.
She declared her assets while filing nominations for the June 27 bypoll to Radhakrishnan Nagar assembly constituency.
While contesting from Srirangam constituency in May, 2011 assembly elections, she had declared assets of Rs 51.40 crore. As per the affidavit she filed on Friday along with the nominations for the bypoll, Jayalalithaa has total assets of Rs 117.13 crore, which include Rs 45.04 crore of movable assets and Rs 72.09 crore of immovable assets. The 24,000 square foot Poes Garden residence 'Veda Nilayam' is valued at Rs 43.96 crore. Jayalalithaa and her mother had purchased it for Rs 1.32 lakh in July 1967, the affidavit said. Besides residential property, she owns four commercial buildings, including one in Poes Garden and in Hyderabad. Details of the affidavit were uploaded on the Election Commission website.
