Mumbai Police downgrades security of 40 Bollywood celebrities including SRK and Aamir

The Mumbai Police has downgraded the security of around 40 Bollywood celebrities after an annual assessment of threat perception.

Actors Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra are among those whose security has been downgraded.


Reports say that the security given to some of these celebrities has also been withdrawn. The Mumbai Police has said that there was nothing new in the move as it was a routine practice to analyse threat perception and review the security given to celebrities.

Aamir and Shah Rukh were provided additional security during the end of 2015 after their remarks on 'intolerance' drew extreme and unprecedented reactions from political parties and various outfits.
