Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday had kicked start the poll campaign in Assam with five rallies and said that, Assam is now wait for a change and wait for development in the state.

Addressing a public rally in Majuli, river island of Brahmaputra for the party CM candidate Sarbananda Sonowal, Modi slammed the Congress led state government and said that, Congress had ruled in past 60 years, but Assam is still underdeveloped state.

“We believe in three agendas and these are development, fast development and everywhere development,” Modi said.

Modi said that, Assam is known in the world for its tea and he was spared his childhood with tea.

“I sold tea in my childhood and i know what is poor,” Modi said.

On the other hand, attacked the Assam CM Tarun Gogoi, the PM said that, he is not come here to fight against Gogoi, but come here to fight against poor, unemployment.

“CAG seeks report from the Assam government, but Gogoi led state government had not submit the utilization report amounting Rs 1,80,00,000 crore,” Modi said.

The PM had addressing public rallies in Tinsukia, Majuli, Bihpuria, Bokakhat and Jorhat.

Modi will address two more rallies in the poll bound state tomorrow.

The assembly poll in the state will held on April 4 and 11 in two phases.
