Election Commission notice to Sasikala

New Delhi: The Election Commission on Friday issued a notice to AIADMK leader Sasikala based on a petition challenging her elevation as the party general secretary.

According to the sources, she has to submit her explanation by February 28 failing which the Election Commission will take a decision construing that she had nothing to explain.

Representing the Panneerselvam camp, Rajya Sabha MP V Maitreyan reportedly petitioned the Commission on the legality of Sasikala's elevation.

If Sasikala is removed from the post, her decision to expel former chief minister Panneerselvam from the party will stand null and void.
