Mumbai: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has tweeted about her safety after a massive fire broke out on the 33rd floor of Prabhadevi’s Beaumonde Towers. The actor lives in the same building.

She wrote, “I am safe. Thank you everyone. Let us pray for our firefighters who are at site risking their lives.” Deepika, who stays at the 26th floor of the building, was away for an ad shoot. Her staff members were among those who were evacuated.

According to officials, the fire was seen around 2.10 pm on the uppermost floors of the building. In no time, thick black clouds of smoke were billowing out.

More than a dozen fire-tenders battled the blaze. Six fire engines and five jumbo tankers and a hydraulics platform and ambulance were brought to the spot. About ninety to 95 persons were rescued safely.

“Our staff and fire brigade personnel are on the spot for assistance. They are trying their best to douse the fire and provide necessary help to people there,” Mumbai Police posted on Twitter.

On the work front, Deepika hasn’t announced any film since the release of her last film Padmaavat.
There were reports that she is going to be a part of the fourth instalment of Hollywood franchise xXx.
