The Samaikyandhra agitation will be intensified, warned MLAs Anam Vivekananda Reddy, Sridhara Krishna Reddy and MLC Vakati Narayan Reddy while addressing a meeting organised by the Student Joint Action Committee (JAC) at Padmavati Kalyana Mandapam here on Sunday.

Speakers warned the State would not be allowed to split even if their bodies were broken; if the State was divided there would be serious consequences. Posters of 'Chalo Delhi' rally by students on July 30 were released. The legislators pledged their support to the JAC agitation and offered even to give up their posts. They urged the JAC to go ahead with the struggle. JAC leader Krishna said it would organise conventions in the State.

Vivekananda Reddy claimed that the announcements by the Congress Core Group and Congress Working Committee to divide the State would not be legal, as Clause 70 of the Constitution needed to be amended. There was no need to get agitated about reports on bifurcating the State, he said, while mounting a scathing attack on TRS chief KCR.

The MLA alleged that KCR's family was aiming to split the State, to make himself chief minister, KTR deputy CM, nephew T Harish Rao home/finance minister and daughter Kavita a Union minister. He challenged KCR to a referendum on development of Hyderabad and State division, claiming 50 per of Telangana people were opposed to it.

Vivekananda Reddy accused KCR of being keen to have 'dorala paalana' (rule of high castes), while asserting that NTR had liberated Telangana people from bondage. He claimed Hyderabad was developed by N Chandrababu Naidu, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Kiran Kumar Reddy, all integrationists. The MLA alleged there was no development in the City when CMs were from Telangana.

He claimed that extremists would hold power if the State was divided, while criticizing the BJP for pressing for division only to secure votes. He said people were aware of the fate of administration in three States created by BJP, with Naxalites killing several IAS, IPS, IRS and IFS officers besides politicians. Would the government concede statehood for Dandakaranya, he asked.

Sridhara Krishna Reddy and Narayana Reddy said they were ready to resign to press for a united State. Town TDP leader Kotamreddy Srinivasul Reddy urged the JAC to move ahead with its struggle inspired by Potti Sriramulu's sacrifices.
