Even as the nation gears up to welcome a new state that is almost on the verge of becoming a reality, here's a poem sent by one of our readers...

I can just move forward

Can’t go back

Everything around me is pink (TRS)

Everything around me is even black (Seema Andhra)

The past is like the present (1969 Telangana agitation)

The present is like the past

The future is somewhere in sight

And time is running fast (T. Bill)

Politicians made uncertainty a certainty

Everything is for sure

No place for the known

Everything seems to be so sour

Confusion is certainly my state

So many questions in mind

Solutions to which

I just can’t seem to find

Growing is up what I am since 1969

Killing time teaching as I can

Travelling around the global village

With a definite direction and plan

My ambitions are professional

And that is all they are

Being the Telanganite, that I am

I just can see the twinkling star

ATelangana is that I belong to

A government to obey

Only one government to vote for

To the martyr’s a tribute shall I pay

What kind of life is this?

I no longer know!

All it looks like is

A foot step hidden in the sand on the go

A footstep of a man

Following the politicians who whine

Waiting to see the light at the end of a tunnel

From behind a thick cloud will the sun shine?

Flicker Flicker

You modest (TRS) lamp

Lead the way

And show the world who is damp

Shine everywhere

But particularly on me

I will tread the path

In search of my long last identity

I am optimistic in your guiding (TRS) force

I am always read to fight

And will strive

To achieve my right

The leopard can never

Change its spots

A colonialist can neverchange his heart

That is why they were thrown out from the Chennais’ pots

I hope to be bereft of obloquy

And explore to where my roots extant

I will get rid of the tyranny

And live peacefully in distant
