India unlike other countries across the world is a diverse nation and while this attracts the attention of people across the world making them wonder how such diverse culture people are remaining united as a one nation, this also comes with a lot of problems.
With such cultural, linguistic, traditional, economical, geographical differences, people do not converge on many things. This even triggers regionalism. Apart from North and South divide which is prevalent in the country, one can witness subtle division between regions.
In South itself there are Tamil,Telugu,Malayalam and Kannada languages and all fight for their own identity. Even in North while many think that common language, Hindi unites them, it is the other way.
Biharis oppose UP people, Maharashtrians oppose Gujaratis, Delhi opposes people from North West regions and the like. Now, with Andhra Pradesh being split into Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh, the same problems pose risk to these states too.
Many right thinking people feel that regionalism is stalling India's development. In any decision of natural importance, over committee formation, they seek representation on regional lines. Regional interest overrides national interests and this is stalling the development of the Country.
