All out efforts are afoot and publicity is picking up on both sides of the river - Telangana and AP to project Godavari Pushkaralu which occurs once in 12 years, commencing in July on par with Kumbh Mela on the banks of Ganges. While the AP government has decided to spend over Rs 950 crore and sought central funds, the Telangana government has decided to spend nearly Rs.425 crore.

Endowment Minister Indrakaran Reddy today said Cabinet Sub Committee comprising T Harish Rao and KT Rama Rao, T Nageshswar Rao and P Srinivas Reddy have decided to conduct the event in a grand manner to reflect Telangana culture and tradition.

He says that in place of the existing 27 bathing ghats in all 69 bathing ghats will be built along the 14 towns in Telangana from Basar to Mahdevpur. The event will be exploited to showcase the culture, traditions and customs of Telangana with Expos and exhibitions at all major congregations during the seven-day event.
