The one and only one university in pre- and post- bifuricated Andhra Pradesh offering the most sought-after research and job-oriented NANOTECHNOLOGY course that offers atleast Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 50,000 startup salary, depending upon the exposure and skill of a candidate, is the Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur.

It is humiliating to see how this unique course is being handled carelessly by the University authorities even after considering that the course is self-financed by all standards.
(i) The course is offered as B.Sc ( MPC ) for first three years + one year B.Sc ( Hons ) + one year M.Sc ( Integrated )
(ii) The fee is exhorbiant for the first three years at Rs. 30,000+ wherein the same can be completed at 1/3rd of this even in a well known private degree college.
(iii) Just for three one-hour duration classes the university HOD with an apathetic attitude allots fancy timings.
(iv) No one knows whether a class is going to be conducted or not. Even if classes are there, first class may be at 9:00 am and the next class may be at 5:00 pm or the classes may be cancelled without intimation, but the students have to wait upto the closing hours and are permitted to leave the premises. ( Students are found to be totally distracted and are showing interests in unwanted interests.
(v) For 4th and 5th year students, no lecturer attends the classes and are always busy in guiding the Ph.D students ( sic ! ). We doubt the credentials of the lecturers including HOD as to how far they are competent to teach Nanotechnology.
(vi) Even after paying an amount equal to the fee paid by B.Tech students, the knowledge we gain is far less than a B.Sc graduate of even a govt. degree college.
(vii) We cannot even approach the higher authorities as the complete department is “CASTE – bound” and HOD clearly warns us of extremes and awards marks upon his wish. The questions of semester exams will be leaked to the prospect ( his caste ) students as the question papers are prepared by the department itself.
(viii) Those who do daily service from far off places like Vijayawada face upteem difficulties as much of the valuable time that can be devoted to a much productive work is being wasted criminally.
(ix) We don’t even have laboratories ( apart from the first three years ) for the nano.
(x) The HOD is totally apathetic to those who want to leave the college after completing the third year as he declares the result of the exam in the fourth year first semester by the time almost all the admissions in the other PG colleges will be shut down.
The Chief Minister promised that he transforms AP into the lines of Singapore, but we wish to expect from him atleast in the way of Sri Lanka or Bangladesh or even like Pakistan which are giving more importance to education and development thereby improving the employability of the citizens.
We plead your investigation into the above said and we request your immediate help regarding the improvement of the course or just simply lay off the course so that the students coming with high-expectation are not depressed.
We even demand to bring down the exhorbiant fee to be reduced as no other University is charging such huge amount on par with B.Tech students just for an ordinary degree course.
We hereby bring all our plight through our well wisher :
Sri N. Sesha Sai Kumar garu who is an eminent educationalist in Vijayawada.
