Saina cruised to an easy 21-6, 21-8 victory in just 28 minutes after Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand had given Hyderabad a winning start when he beat India's youngster Sai Praneeth 19 -21, 12 -19, 11 -7 in the men's singles. Boon Hoeng Tan and Kien Keat Koo kept Delhi's hopes alive by winning their men's doubles match against V Shem Goh and T Kona 21-14, 21 -20. Malaysian Daren Liew of Delhi crushed veteran Hidayat 21-10, 21-7 in a one-sided contest.
