The Chinese New Year in 2016 will be celebrated on February 8, and this time as the Year of the Monkey according to the Lunar Calendar. Hong Kong at this time of year reflects a vibrant red and gold.

Party of the Year’, for the year 2016 is one of the most anticipated annual events. It’s the place for fantastic floats and spectacular performances, all in celebration of Chinese New Year.

New Year Parade
The main roads of Tsim Sha Tsui will be lit up by 13 illuminated floats. One can watch stilt walkers, extravagant drummers, energetic cheerleaders and cultural dances. Traditional dragon and lion dances, percussion bands and ballet will be performed.

The year of the Monkey can begin this time with a visit to the Chinese New Year Race Day. Thrilling lion dances, good luck greetings from the territory’s favourite jockeys, variety of tips from a Feng Shui master are some of the many attractions to enjoy.
